Explain dummy activity, Operation Management

Assignment Help:

Explain Dummy Activity.

Every project has a number of job operations or tasks that are termed as activities.  An activity is a component of a project and this may be a process, material procurement cycle or a material handling. A dummy activity does not take extra time.  As two activities start at similar instant of time, the head events are joined through a dotted arrow and it is termed as dummy activity. This activity may be non-critical or critical.  This becomes a critical activity while its Earliest Start Time (EST) is similar as its Latest Finishing Time (LFT).
