As the pH of the growth is towards acidic side, high amount of lysine is produced in the proteins, hence protein is more acceptable and of higher biological

Disadvantages

  • Less protein yield (45-60%)
  • Growth rate is low (1-3 h)
  • High nucleic acid content leading to the formation of uric acid.
