Explain about the electrophoresis, Biology

Assignment Help:

Explain about the Electrophoresis?

Electrophoresis refers to the movement of charged particles because of an external electric field. Because charged molecules can be made to move, different molecules can be separated if they have different velocities in an electrical field. Electrophoresis offers a powerful means of separating proteins and other molecules like DNA and RNA. The velocity of migration of a protein (or any molecule) in an electric field depends on the electric field strength, the net charge on the protein and the frictional coefficient.
