Explain about Listeria monocytogenes infection
Listeria monocytogenes is a gram-positive, motile, non-spore forming rod. It is widely distributed in nature and can be found on decaying vegetation and in soils, animal faeces, sewage, silage and water. In cattle it can result in abortion and mastitis and the infected animals shed the organism in milk.
