Q. Examination requirements and acceptance criteria for weld?

Examination requirements and acceptance criteria shall be in accordance with ASME Code, and the requirements of this specification.

Visually examine all welds for completeness, excess reinforcement, and evidence of undercutting. Where possible, examine all welds internally for burn-through, excess reinforcement, lack of penetrations or fusion, and weld spatter, flux or icicles. Repair all defects found.

Sufficient preparation of welds is required to permit meaningful interpretation of non-destructive examinations.

Non-destructive examination shall be performed after completion of any heat treatment.

All non-destructive examinations shall be performed by personnel qualified in accordance with ASNT Recommended Practice SNT-TC-1A. Certification of personnel shall be made available to the OWNER's representative upon request.

All non destructive examinations shall be performed in accordance with written procedures that conform to ASME Section V. Submit the written procedures that shall also include acceptance criteria to the OWNER for approval. No examinations shall be performed prior to the written approval of the procedures.

Results of non-destructive examinations (NDE) shall be reported on forms authorized by the OWNER and copies of reports shall be provided to the OWNER upon request. OWNER reserves the right to approve all final radiographs and results of other examinations and tests. Include all NDE results in the final data package.

Locations of non-destructive examinations shall be in accordance with applicable documents or selected by the OWNER's representative.
