Assignment Help:

This assignment is based around two UK websites. In order to avoid difficulties such as the websites changing, or disappearing, we have downloaded these websites and you can find them in the Assessment resources [Tip: hold Ctrl and click a link to open it in a new tab. (Hide tip)] of the M364 module website. You should run these versions of the websites instead of the live versions.

If you are studying in Botswana, these sites have been downloaded onto your local server. You will be told how to access these sites by your MYT364 tutor. Examine how the two UK websites have been designed. The main thrust of this question is to compare and contrast their design and what they offer to users. As you will see, these are the websites of two catering companies based in London.
Two websites have been downloaded: Eden Fine Dining and Kai Catering.

You should access the downloaded versions of these sites by visiting the module website, or by seeking advice from your tutor.

Get a feel for what they have to offer and how their designs differ. In particular, pay attention to any difficulties you experience using these sites, and reflect on how their designs could be modified in order to help avoid these difficulties.

It is possible that either or both of these websites will be linked to other websites. This is because these linked sites contain some information a visitor is likely to need. For this reason, when you complete the following question (and Questions 2, 3 and 4) you should refer to and comment on the websites listed, plus any other linked websites you needed to visit while completing the tasks. If any linked websites are unavailable, then note which these are in your answer and just comment on the websites that you are able to access. You will not be penalised for this.

While exploring the sites do not contact either company. The purpose of the TMA is to reflect on the design of the websites and not to explore whether the company responds to requests for information in an appropriate way.

You must include a small number of screenshots to illustrate your comments on the following.

a. From your first impressions, state six different aspects of the two designs (three from each website) which you think are either good or poor. Explain why you think each is good or poor. Include at least one good aspect, and at least one poor aspect for each website.

b. The context of use for these websites is now described.

Context of use

Mr and Mrs Jannelli are approaching their fiftieth wedding anniversary. Their two children, Sophie and Stephen, want to organise a formal party to celebrate, inviting up to 60 guests, many of whom are over 70 years old (including several wheelchair users). Mr and Mrs Jannelli retired to rural Yorkshire ten years ago, moving there from their family home in London, where many members of their family still live, including their son Stephen. Stephen and Sophie have decided that the party should be held in London to allow as many people as possible to attend, but they do not know where. Ideally, Stephen and Sophie would like one company to organise both the venue and the catering. The Jannellis need to cater for friends from a wide range of cultural backgrounds, and also vegetarians and others who have intolerance to certain types of food. Sophie and Stephen want to find a catering company which can offer exciting food and excellent service at a good price.

Briefly describe three types of information that Stephen and Sophie might want to elicit when using these websites.

c. Briefly compare the problems that Stephen and Sophie may encounter when using the two websites to gather the three types of information you identified in Part (b).
