The functions of the data and the parameters of interest which can be brought in use to conduct inference about the parameters when full distribution of the observations is unknown to us. This approach has a benefit over the methods based on the likelihood since it needs the specification of only a few moments of the random variable involved rather than the total probability distribution. The most common instance is the quasi-score estimating function
