Elimination reactions - Chemical Properties Alkyl Halides

The positive charge on carbon is promulgated to the neighbouring carbon atoms through inductive effect. While moved toward by a strongest base (B), it leads to lose a proton usually from the β-carbon atom. Such types of reactions are named as elimination reactions. They are as well E1 and E2 reactions.
