Directories are very useful to locate answers to agency or bibliographical quiries as they cover information about organisations and their members, as well as notable personalities in various fields in the world. They comprises of:

  1. list of organisations or persons arranged systematically in alphabetical or classified order, 
  2. names and addresses of organisations and persons including their telephone number, fax number, telegraphic and telex address; 
  3. functions, objectives and activities of organisation; and 
  4. list of office bearers and members, their residential and official addresses, designation, qualification, working experience, achievements, publications etc.
