Different server platforms for erp systems, Software Engineering

Assignment Help:

Question:

a. Assume that you have three similar projects, and, in each, the ratios of problems found during system test versus first year in the field have been 1.5, 1.2, and 1.6. If you found 200 defects in system test, how many defects do you expect to find in the first year of your new project?

b. In 2001, IDC compared the availability of three different server platforms for ERP systems (such as SAP or Oracle), which were 99.98%, 99.67%, and 99.9% for an average of 99.85%. Your system's requirement is to have downtime less than 10 hours per year. What does the availability of your software need to be? Consider that the server platforms include disk, network, CPU . . . everything except the software.
