Different EDI components and services
Three main components containing services in EDI System are as follows:
• Application Service: Gives the means of integrating existing or new applications into the EDI System.
• Translation Service: Changes data from internal format standards to an external format and translates data from an external format to an internal format standard.
• Communication Service: Passes documents onto a network by the agreed communication protocol.
