Determine the power absorbed by the circuit, Physics

Assignment Help:

A 20 Ω non-reactive resistor is connected in series with a coil of inductance 80mH and negligible resistance. The combined circuit is connected to a 200V, 50Hz supply.

Calculate

(a) the reactance of the coil,

(b) the impedance of the circuit,

(c) the current in the circuit,

(d) the power factor of the circuit,

(e) the power absorbed by the circuit,

(f ) the value of a power factor correction capacitor to produce a power factor of unity, and

(g) the value of a power factor correction capacitor to produce a power factor of 0.9
