Determine the local luminance, Basic Statistics

Assignment Help:

1. Consider a room 3 m x 3m x 3m with one façade made of glazing with diffuse transmittance 0.6 and reflectance 0.2. The interior surfaces have a reflectance of 0.5. Consider incident uniform diffuse daylight on the window equal to 10000 lux.

(a) Determine the average luminous existence of the opaque interior surfaces of the room.

(b) Using the radiosity method (3-surface enclosure) determine the local luminance on the work plane (0.8 m high) in the centre of the room; what is the direct component and what is the reflected component at this point?
