These norms are based on previously described models. Typical categories of these norms are:

(a)  drafting, which describes the data type and structures for the layout the drawing and the presentation of technical objects. Various views, cross-sections, as well as dimensioning are captured,

(b)  product structure configuration management defines data structure, makes possible the administration and the comparison of specified various product versions. From this data structure of the partial model, the bill of material and the product structure can be derived,

(c)  finite element analysis which is represented by the partial model analysis application, and

(d)  kinematics where information for gears and robots is kept.
