Describe the theory of Darwin's?

Most scientists today accept the theory that living organisms have evolved according to the concept that was first proposed by Charles Darwin in 1859. Darwin's publication Origin of Species brought together in a meaningful way the following: 1.) Hard evidence such as the distribution patterns of plants and animals obtained during on a cruise aboard the HMS Beagle, 2.) Charles Lyell's theory of how geographical processes occur gradually over time, 3.) Thomas Malthus' explanation of how population growth is limited by natural processes and resources, 4.) Writings of others, including Alfred Wallace, 5.) Evidence from the fossil record, and 6.) Selective breeding by plant and animal breeders.
