Although tourism has brought economic benefits, it has significantly contributed to environmental degradation, negative cultural and social impacts and habitat fragmentation. Tourism's unplanned growth has damaged the natural and socio-cultural environments of several tourism destinations. These undesirable consequences has led to the growing concern for preservation and conservation of natural resources, human well being and the long term economic viability of communities.
