Describe Adding and Subtracting Square Roots?
To add or subtract square roots, the radicands must be the same. If the radicands are the same, add/subtract the coefficients (the numbers outside the radical signs).
Examples:√7+ √7 = 2√7√2 + 3√2 = 4√2 Note: Assume the coefficient is 1 for square roots that have no coefficient. For example p √3 = 1√3
√2 +2√2 ≠ √2 and √2 + 2√2 ≠ 3 √2
Note: Always be sure to simplify the square roots first, because sometimes two square roots might not look the same, but they really are.
P and Q are the points (12,0) and (0,-5) respectively,find the length of the median through the origin O of the triangle OPQ
The angles between three non-zero and non coplanar vectors a,b and c are α between b and c and β between c and a and γ between a and b. The vector u and v are defined by u=(aX
How to Solve Inequalities ? Now that you have learned so much about solving equations, you're ready to solve inequalities. You might think that since an equation looks like
(1) The following table gives the joint probability distribution p (X, Y) of random variables X and Y. Determine the following: (a) Do the entries of the table satisfy
Find out the surface area of the solid acquired by rotating y = √ (9-x 2 ), - 2 x 2 about the x-axis. Solution The formula that we'll be using here is, S = ∫ 2Πyds
Find out the area of the region enclosed by y = x 2 & y =√x . Solution Firstly, just what do we mean by "area enclosed by". This means that the region we're interested in
1. a) Given a digraph G = (V,E), prove that if we add a constant k to the length of every arc coming out from the root node r, the shortest path tree remains the same. Do this by
After a lot of effort, 8-year-old Hari worked out 2 x 88 = 176. When asked to say what 2 x 89 was, after a lot of hard work, he produced the answer 178. How would you help him to r
Describe the Sample of Exponents ? Imagine, for example, that you are the P.E. coach at your school, and you need to divide one of your classes into teams. Your team has 45 stu
if 1/x+2, 1/x+3, 1/x+5 are in AP find x Ans 1/x+2,1/x+3, 1/x+5 are in AP find x. 1/x+3 - 1/x+2 = 1/x+5-1/x+3 => 1/x 2 +5x+6 = 2/ x 2 +8x +15 => On solving we get x
