The experimental set-up for producing Newton's ring is shown in fig. (A). A plane-convex lenses L of large radius of curvature with its convexities is placed on a plane glass plate P. When light from an extended monochromatic source is allowed to fall on plane glass plate G inclined at an angle of 45 degree to the incident beam, it reflects incident light beam in vertically downward direction on the system (Plano-convex lens L + Plane glass plate P). The light waves reflected form the top and bottom surfaces of the air film produces interference fringes. These interference fringes (rings) may be seen by using a low power microscope.
Refractive index: The most important optical measurement for any transparent material is its refractive index (n). The refractive index is the ratio of the speed of light (c)
Give the theory of plane diffraction grating for normal incidence.
Laue pattern (M. von Laue): The pattern generated on a photographic film while high-frequency electromagnetic waves (such as x-rays) are fired at a crystalline solid.
What does it mean when a coulomb of charge has a certain number of joules?
DC high-current measurement: In common with many simple multimeters, both analogue and digital, the high current range (e.g. 10A) is not only selected using the range selector
This spray head discharges water (density 62.4 lbm/ft ) at a rate of 4 ft /s. Assuming irrotational flow and an efflux speed of 65 ft/s in the free jet, determine what force acting
