Define the Process of Digestion of Proteins?

The daily protein intake (of about 50-100 g) and the protein of enzymes, sloughed (bled or drop off) epithelial cells and mucins, which are found in the gut is almost completely digested and absorbed. This is a very efficient process and ensures a continuous supply of amino acids to the whole body's amino acid pool. The purpose of protein digestion is to liberate the amill0 acids of the consumed proteins. This is accomplished through a series of enzymes which have specific target linkages as their point of action as shown in the Table.
