Define the frame column analysis, Civil Engineering

Assignment Help:

Define the Frame Column Analysis

1. Based on if a column section is a braced frame or unbraced frame.

2. Braced frame-indicates buckling mode shape does not involve translation of the end points

- A frame may not need actual cross bracing to be denoted as a 'braced frame'-could be braced by an intermediate wall.  However, for simplicity assume if this information is not given, cross bracing would denote a braced frame.

3. Unbraced frame-a column that translates and rotates at a terminal end under axial compressive loads.
