Define risk of stress fracture among Athletes?
There is an increased risk of stress fracture among athletes which is associated with lower calcium intake and lower bone density. Female athletes should have an adequate supply of calcium to avoid calcium loss from bones. The calcium intake of 1-2 mg per day is recommended or it may exceed even up to the level of 3 mg per day.
