Define real time operating system, Electrical Engineering

Assignment Help:

Define real time operating system.

Real time operating system (RTOS): The real operating system is an operating system used in embedded applications which performs tasks in a predictable amount of time. Real operating system much likes any other operating system in that this contains similar basic sections. Mostly there are three elements to all operating systems:

(1) Initialization,

(2) The kernel,

(3) Procedures and Data.

The initialization section is employed to program all hardware components into the system, load drivers exact to a system, and program the substances of the microprocessor's registers.  The kernel performs the fundamental system task, gives system calls or functions, and has the embedded system. The procedure and data section holds all procedures and any static data utilized by the operating system.
