Define Incision - Endodontic Surgery

  1. Incisions are accomplished by using one of four scalpel blades: No. 11, No.  12, No. 15, and No. 15-C
  2. Horizontal incision should be made first, followed by the vertical releasing incisions.
  3. Hold the scalpel handle in a pen grasp and use finger rests on teeth to achieve maximum contour and stability.
  4. The vertical incision should begin in the alveolar mucosa in coronal direction until it intersects with the horizontal incision.
