Define Colorimetric Method for the Estimation of Phosphorous

Estimation of phosphorous is based upon the principle of colorimetry. Many methods for quantitative analysis are based upon the production of coloured solutions in such a way that the intensity or depth of colour so obtained may be used as a measure of concentration of substance being determined. Such use of colour as an index of concentration is the science of colorimetry.
