When two particles tend to each other, their motion alters or their momentum modify because of their mutual interactions. This phenomenon is called as collision. During collision

(i) an impulse performs on every colliding particle

(ii) the total momentum of the particles keep conserved. The collision is infecting a redistribution of total momentum of the object.
