Vitamin B1 (Thiamine hydrochloride)

a) Thiamine hydrochloride is a white, crystalline powder, slightly hygroscopic, of an odour resembling yeast and of bitter to taste.

b) It is freely soluble in water.

c) Thiamine hydrochloride is soluble in glycerin, sparingly soluble in methanol and ethanol (95%), almost insoluble in absolute alcohol, acetone, ether, chloroform, benzene, fats and fatty oils.
