Define Big Omega notation
Big Omega notation (?): The lower bound for the function 'f' is given by the big omega notation (?). Considering 'g' to be a function from the non-negative integers to the positive real numbers, we describe ?(g) as the set of function f such that for some real constant c>0 and some non negative integers constant n0 , f(n)≥cg(n) for all n≥n0. Mathematically, ?(g(n))={f(n): there exists positive constants like that 0≤cg(n) ≤f(n) for all n, n≥n0}.
Variable length codes (Niveau I) Code the following sequence of integers (2, 4, 2, 8, 3, 1, 4, 5, 13, 2) with • unary codes • ? codes • d codes • Rice codes (for a suitable l) and
Define Strictly Binary Tree Strictly Binary Tree: - If each non leaf node in binary tree has non empty left and right sub-trees , then the tree is known as a strictly binary t
Define a B-Tree Justas AVL trees are balanced binary search trees, B-trees are balanced M-way search trees. A B-Tree of order M is either the empty tree or it is an M-way searc
Q1. Define a sparse matrix. Explain different types of sparse matrices? Evaluate the method to calculate address of any element a jk of a matrix stored in memory. Q2. A linear
Define Merge Sort Merge sort is a perfect example of a successful application of the divide and conquer method. It sorts a given array A[0...n-l] by separating it into two ha
Time Complexity, Big O notation The amount of time needed by an algorithm to run to its completion is referred as time complexity. The asymptotic running time of an algorithm i

Example of Back Face Detection Method To illustrate the method, we shall start with the tetrahedron (pyramid) PQRS of Figure with vertices P (1, 1, 2), Q (3, 2, 3), R (1,
Full Binary Trees: A binary tree of height h that had 2h -1 elements is called a Full Binary Tree. Complete Binary Trees: A binary tree whereby if the height is d, and all of
