Corrosion resistance of the nickel-based alloys, Mechanical Engineering

Assignment Help:

Q. Corrosion resistance of the nickel-based alloys?

The corrosion resistance of the nickel-based alloys can also be significantly affected by other variables such as velocity and oxidizing or reducing impurities.

For a specific application in sulphuric acid service, a materials engineer should be consulted.

Due to the high cost of these alloys, light gauge piping is typically specified, resulting in butt welds of piping and their respective fittings being only two or three layers in depth. In order to achieve good fit-up conditions in large diameter piping components, out-of-roundness must be monitored closely.
