Corrosion of bfw pump, Mechanical Engineering

Assignment Help:

Q. Show Corrosion of BFW Pump?

BFW pumps are in high-pressure high-temperature service and may be subject to cavitation and erosion-corrosion. Also overheating of these pumps is always concerned which can be managed by proper operation and circulation of cooling media to the pump suction header.

Low-grade metallurgy shall not be selected for BFW pumps and upgrading to 12Cr is recommended to prevent excessive erosion problem.
