The main objective is to compute the maximum efficiency of the solar cell panels, produce hydrogen and estimate the hydrogen production rate using solar cells and electrolyzer and to estimate the energy efficiency of the electrolyzer.
Background
a. The efficiency of the solar module is the ratio of electrical power produced and the incident radiant power. Both the current-voltage characteristics and the power curve allow us to find the maximum power point (MPP)
b.
c. The energy efficiency is the ratio of the usable energy and input energy. The usable energy is the chemical energy stored in the hydrogen produced, while the input energy is the electrical energy dissipated by the electrolyzer.
d.
Where,
Hh: Calorific value of hydrogen (12.745 *106 J/m3).
VH2: Volume of hydrogen produced (m3).
V : Voltage (volts).
I : Current (A).
T : Time (Seconds).
