Compaction-manufacturing methods of ceramics, Mechanical Engineering

Assignment Help:

Compaction

This is carried out in several manners that might occupy the addition of a binder or lubricant and application of pressure. Sintering is densification of assembled particles at high temperature. The densification arises by diffusion processes. The diffusion takes place over an extent time and needs high temperature yet acquiring impervious mass is complicated. Most ceramics except oxides may be attacked via atmospheric oxygen throughout sintering thus a protective atmospheric might become essential.
