Classification of polymers - Linear polymers

These are polymers where monomeric units are linked together to form linear sequential chain. These linear sequential polymers are fine packed and comprise high magnitude of intermolecular forces of attraction and hence have high tensil (pulling) strength, high melting points and high densities. Some common instances of sequential polymers are high density polyester, PVC, polyethylene nylon, PAN etc.
