(i) Soccer is a more skilful game than rugby league, since soccer encourages the use of parts of the body not normally used for manipulating objects and restricts contact to the ball alone.  Rugby league, on the other hand, relies heavily on the use of the hands which we are already encouraged in using to build skills.  Besides, rugby league promotes brute thuggery, which is not a skill.

(ii) You believe the trains are always running late because you are using a 2005 train timetable.  In 2006 the timetable was changed to make trains run slower, since it was found that commuter accidents on train platforms were increasing.  So for safety reasons trains now stand longer at platforms and this has lengthened the running times of all services.
