Carburettor Tuning :  It is very important that the carburettor is tuned properly to attain the best fuel efficiency and performance of the motorcycle. Since air screw is factory pre-set hence it is advised not to alter the setting unless required.

STEPS

  • Air screw is reset for some prominent problem or when the complete carburetor is serviced.
  • To tune the carburettor, the air screw is completely closed. Then it is opened 1.5 turns.
  • The engine is allowed to run for 4-5 minutes.
  • With the help of throttle stop screw, the engine r.p.m is increased.
  • Now the air screw is adjusted to attain maximum r.p.m, one must use a tachometer to measure the reading.
  • Now with the help of throttle stop screw, the engine r.p.m is set to 1300-1500 rpm.

 Important points to remember:

  • Tune the carburettor when engine is warm.
  • Always use tachometer.
