As the biochemical, physiological and genetic properties of cells were studied, it was established that in both unicellular and multicellular organisms, it is the fundamental structural unit, which stores the genetic material and the biochemical organisation that accounts for the existence of life. It is naturally essential for a person to know about cells so that one is able to understand a wide variety of issues like health, drugs, illness, medical treatment, reproduction, environmental problems, evolution and life in general.
