Let us now discuss tags in more detail. A <TAG> command the browser to do something. An ATTRIBUTE goes inside the <TAG> & tells the browser how to do it. A tag might have many attributes. Tags can also have default attributes. The default value is a value which the browser supposes if you have not told it otherwise. A good instance is the font size. The default font size is three. If you say nothing the size attribute of the font tag will be taken to have the value three.
Assume the example illustrated in Fig. Type the code indicated in the figure in a text editor like notepad and save it as "fig1.html". To render the file and see your page you can select one of two ways:
1) Determine the icon of the html file you now made and double click on it. Or
2) In Internet Explorer, click onto File/Open File and point to the file .
