Attorney General

However the office of the Attorney simply is established through sec (i) of the constitution. In the public service it is an office. 

Appointment of Attorney general

Whether under sec 109 (i) the Attorney General is appointed through the president. However for qualify for appointment one must be an advocate of High Court whether not less than 5 years standing. 

Conversely the Attorney General retires at that age as may be prescribed through the parliament. Usually he enjoys the same security of office of tenure.  Further he can only be removed for incapacity of misbehaviour that provided a tribunal appointed through the president so recommends by follow investigation of the allegations.
