Airport Drainage:

Rainwater should be quickly taken away from the runway, taxiway and apron areas. For drainage of runway and taxiway, a cross-slope of 1.5 per cent on either side of the centre line is provided in the paved portion and shoulders. The water is then led to side ditches and then led to natural drainage channels (Figure).
