The average employee today is more educated then they were ten, twenty or forty years ago, but why? What factors exist to explain this? If the firm is to train employees, what is the best method of training employees in general? After this assignment the student will be able to understand the costs and benefits of training from the perspective of the employee and employer and the factors that will influence their decision.

Given the current situation in the labour market for skilled labour, discuss the advantages and disadvantages of hiring pre trained (skilled) labour and the training of unskilled labour (either current employees or newly hired persons). If you are hiring skilled personal, explain the information that you may interpret from high levels of education and lower levels of education. When it comes to training employees, explain the advantages and disadvantages in providing both specific and general training. State the advantages and disadvantages in the different training methods based on the type of trainer used and the location of the training.
