Advances in neurodiagnostic techniques
Major scientific and technology advances have made it easier to correlate behaviours suspected as having a neurological basis with actual neuroanatomical (structural) and neurophysiological abnormalities. Many of these advances have been applied to the study of infants and young children, such as techniques to examine the foetus in utero and to monitor development in the perinatal period.
