Setting up Microsoft Word 2010 to automatically handle as much as possible of the NDSU Graduate School requirements for a disquisition. Accessible from the Graduate School web site is a document of twenty-some pages that specifies a great many format requirements for theses, papers, and dissertations at NDSU. Microsoft Word 2010 has a number of features that allow customization including macros, Visual Basic for Applications (VBA), and styles. Your application will consist of a set of macros and styles, supplemented as needed by programs in VBA that a graduate student can use to handle as much of the formatting requirements as possible including margins, format of Table of Contents, ensuring the headers match the entries in the table of contents, format of figures and tables, etc.
