Introduction to Dynamics Physics

In the branch of physics, the study related to the causes and changes in motion is defined as dynamics. Dynamics, in other words, is related to the study of why objects are in motion. It is also concerned with the study of the effect of torques on motion. It is therefore a branch of physical science and a subdivision of mechanics that is concerned with the motion of objects in relation to the physical factors such as force, mass, momentum and energy that affect this motion. Therefore we can say that dynamics and kinematics are not the same. This is because Kinematics is a branch of classical mechanics, and it describes the motion of objects without consideration of the causes leading to the motion; whereas in dynamics we also study the reason behind the change in motion. Researchers involved in dynamics study how a physical system develops or alters over time and study the causes of those various changes. In addition, great scientist Isaac Newton established the undergirding physical laws which govern dynamics in physics., Dynamics can be understood by studying his system of mechanics. To be more specific, dynamics is mostly related to Newton's second law of motion. However, Newton’s all three laws of motion are taken into account, because these are interrelated in any given experiment or observation. He had described force as the ability to cause a mass to accelerate. Newton’s famous three laws are:

• First law states that an object in motion will stay in motion unless a force is applied. It deals with inertia, which is a property of matter that resists acceleration and depends only on mass.

• According to second force quantity is equal to mass multiplied by the acceleration (F = ma).

• According to third law, for every action, there is an equal but opposite reaction.

In case of classical electromagnetism that describe the dynamics can be understood from Maxwell's equations. And the dynamics of classical systems which involve both electromagnetism and mechanics are described by the combination of Maxwell's equations, Newton's laws, and the Lorentz force.
