You are required to identify a public listed corporation in a specified industry as your object of study.

I. Describe the background of the company and explain why you decide to choose this company.

II. From the chairman statement and management reports identify pertinent announcements or events that would have significantly affected the presentation and disclosure of the financial statements.

Ill. Based on the announcements or events SUGGEST the possible impact on the performance, position and cash flow of the corporation,

IV. From the financial highlights presented in the report, identify at least 5 year financial trends of the company and suggest why such trends may prevail or change accordingly.

Compute and analyse the financial ratios of the company relating to its ability to meet the following financial objectives:
• Meeting liquidity needs (liquidity ratios)
• Meeting operational performance (activity ratios)
• Meeting bond holders expectations (gearing ratios)
• Meeting board expectations (profitability ratios)
• Meeting shareholder expectation (Price ratios)

For each of the category of ratios, provide possible interpretation of the analysis with given economic conditions and industry competition (state the approach in choosing your comparable company/industry) and existing and prospective business and financial analysis of the company.
