Interviewing Dialog

Students will write an interviewing dialog. Due day 13 of the module. The student is worker and will include interviewing skills sets covered in this module. Below is a list of interviewing skills and helper skill sets that must be included. Students are encouraged to use chapters in the textbook and the Appendix A and Appendix B handouts. Students will pick a student partner to be the client and video tape their interviewing dialog. Student videos will be shown during class on day 13, 14, and 15. Tapes will not be longer than 10 min. In length.

1) Introduction - set up the interview - introduce or greet your client. Is this an initial interview, beginning, middle or end phase of the helping relationship?

2) 6 key process questions for every interview
What brings you here today?
What are your expectations of me?
What do I need to know about your situation?
What do you mean by....?
What did we accomplish?
What have we missed? Appropriate use and timing of these questions
