Aim(s) of Event: To provide students with an opportunity to develop motivational interviewing techniques in supporting a patient to make a behaviour change.

Learning Outcomes: At the end of the session students will

Have an understanding of the techniques of motivational interviewing and why this is an effective technique in guiding behaviour change.
Be able to initiate a conversation with a client around health care and lifestyle issues and practise techniques used in health care to support behaviour change.
Develop observational skills by observing peers and providing peer to peer feedback.
