Learning Outcome: Identify the key components of a structures management system Carry out an assessment of the capacity of an existing large structure in Civil Engineering.

Write a report on Asset management strategy within global aspect of the asset to fit each type of structure or asset. Identify a relevant asset system and access an existing Civil Engineering Structural Project (asset) of your choice, considering the key features of the Asset management of the scheme. It should include the inventory, current condition, prediction of future condition and state the tools or matrix for managing the scheme. (Structural asset management system).

Candidates are supposed to explore the following

Question 1. Identify a suitable structure.

Question 2. Perform the asset survey (value) for estimating the current condition of the project by stating different methods of structural assessment inclusive of costing techniques, Health and safety and risk assessment.

Question 3. Assess possible future conditions of deteriorations and application of possible re use of elements including sustainability applications.

Question 4. Suggest conditions for maintaining, strengthening and improving the asset both physically and in value.
