As you learned during the reading assignments for this week, there are many types of play including pretend or dramatic play. As children pretend to be someone or something else, they are using many cognitive skills including memory, recall, interpretation, problem solving, comparisons, and so much more. Quite often young children will engage in superhero play. That's what you will explore for this forum assignment. Follow the instructions as outlined below.
Step 1: Learn more about superhero play through research.
After reading this article, conduct research {search online and/or in the library} on Superhero play. A quick google search on "superhero play" will generate many resources that you may use. Research specifically to find the reasons for superhero play, the benefits of this type of play, as well as any challenges or concerns about superhero play. You will use this information in Steps 2 and 3 of this assignment.
Step 2: Create your classroom (or school) policy on superhero play. Get top-rated assignment assistance now!
Write a professional policy that references your research. Your policy must describe what superhero play is, the benefits and concerns about this type of play, and how it will be permitted in your program. The policy must be very specific and contain clear references to your research from step 1.
Step 3: Design two superhero learning activities for preschool or young school aged children.
Each activity must be developmentally appropriate, must enhance a child's creativity, and must reflect your research for step 1.
