Step 1:
Find five (5) sources, either online or in print form about advancements in telemedicine and its impact on healthcare access. You will need to find a variety of sources, including academic journals, newspapers, magazines, and credible websites. No more than 2 sources can come from the same publication and you will need more than just journalistic sources. Ideally, the sources you select for this assignment can all be used for your informative speech, but you may end up needing to find another source later on. Don't skimp and pick bad sources for this. Doing so means you'll make more work for yourself having to do more research later.
Step 2:
For your first source, write the APA reference entry that you would include in your references page.
Step 3:
Write a one-paragraph summary of the article in your own words. In your summary paragraph, you should be pulling any important data or statistics that you might consider using in the speech itself. If you do that for every source, you won't have to go reread any of the sources when it comes time to write your speech. If your summary isn't pulling anything important out and it just consists of vague summary, then either you're not reading the source carefully, or there's nothing useful in the source and you should probably pick a different one.
NOTE: You can NOT just copy and paste material from the source and stick it in your summary. This is the assignment that most often results in zeroes for students on all or part of it because they copy and paste stuff directly over. YOU are writing the summary. As such, you should NOT be quoting the source directly very often. Do so VERY sparingly and only if necessary. Bibliographies that plagiarize will be subject to a deduction of all or partial credit, at my discretion.
