Question: Lease Co. entered into a written agreement with Bayou Foods, Inc., a new business, for the lease of a sausage stuffing machine which Bayou intended to use in its production of Cajun-style meat products. The lease document provided in part that "lease payments shall be due monthly. Lease payments will commence upon delivery of the equipment, with the first monthly payment being due within 30 days of Bayou's receipt of the equipment." Bayou says that, prior to signing the lease document, the parties had orally agreed that lease payments would not begin until Bayou started showing a profit from the use of the machine. If a dispute arises between the parties, would evidence of this oral agreement be admissible at trial?
