The bond energies in our genetic molecules (DNA) are about 300 kJ/mole. When DNA absorbs a sufficiently energetic photon it can break bonds, and reactions can happen that lead to cancer. Show by a calculation why ultraviolet light exposure is a cancer risk and explain your reasoning.
